Interviewing Jennie Garth

Jennie was a pleasure to meet yesterday as she was raising money for “Save the Children” at the TJMaxx store in Manhattan.  Growing up, I watched her on TV in Beverly Hills 90210. I was that 7 year old child who watched that tv show every second I could.  My older brother watched it so I would watch it with him (thinking about it now, it’s a bit weird he watched it). Kelly on 90210 was a great and loveable character but also a bit bitchy at times – kind of like me, (just kidding!). Well, in real life, Jennie Garth is adorable.  She’s sweet and funny and had a lot of great things to say that really made me laugh.  jennie-garth-90210-blog

Here are some highlights from our interview:

You have three girls, would you ever want a boy?
I want a boy every day.  We are so fortunate and I don’t ever want to push that envelope. You always think, I have three healthy, great kids and I am so lucky that I would be scared to have more but I would be willing to take the risk.
As a mom what is the challenge of back to school shopping?
I can never seem to provide enough socks for my kids. I dont know if the washing machine eats them or if they just magically disappear.
Your almost three year old is going to be starting pre school are you prepared for separation?
No! I am the mom that stays in the back of the class hiding. She’s going to school where my other two daughters went to school and they let me stay. It’s not even about Fiona, it is about me, my separation issues!
Peter says he loves the bath time…
I don’t really like taking a bath.  Is that terrible? Because he likes the water cold and I like it hot. So, it doesn’t work out.  I told him that I wanted to put a TV in the bathroom and he got mad at me. He’s like, “no, that’s our time in the bathtub.” And I was like, ‘no, I can watch Nurse Jackie.’

I’m on Jennie’s side – who likes their baths cold?!?
