Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for Financial Year 2024/2025

This statement is made pursuant to s.54 of the Modem Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Around Noon has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modem slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.

Modem slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labor. Around Noon Company has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modem slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modem slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.

The company will not support or deal with any business knowingly involved in slavery or human trafficking.

The company Directors and senior management shall take responsibility for implementing this statement and its objectives and shall provide adequate resources and investment to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within the organization and within its supply chains.

A full copy of this policy and a copy of the Modem Slavery Act 2015 will be published on our Company's website and can be obtained by all employees by request made to their respective Line Manager.

This policy statement will be reviewed annually and published.

1. Our Business

Our business Around Noon was established in 1989 on the Chambers family kitchen table, making sandwiches for local businesses in Newry, Northern Ireland. 30 years later, having expanded to four manufacturing sites including Slough, UK, we are still making sandwiches but we’ve grown our food to go range to include a full complement of day parts. We’ve breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks & bakery treats covered. The Around Noon Group now spans four sites; Head Office manufacturing site, Around Noon Bakery & Around Noon Print, a label printing business, in Newry, Northern Ireland & Around Noon London based in Slough. We know how important our quality products are to our customers so collectively, as a team, we drive standards with continuous improvement, product development & innovation. We operate a robust recruitment policy, including conducting eligibility to work in the UK checks for all employees to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.

4. Whistleblowing Policy

We operate a whistleblowing policy so that all employees know that they can raise concerns about how colleagues are being treated, or practices within our business or supply chain, without fear of reprisals.

5. Team Member Handbook

The handbook sets out the main policies and procedures that the employees need to be aware of and adhere to at all times while working for Around Noon, to ensure consistency and transparency in dealings with co-workers as well as other stakeholders in the business.

6. Our Performance Indicators

We will know the effectiveness of the steps that we are taking to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain if:

No reports are received from employees, the public, or law enforcement agencies to indicate that modem slavery practices have been identified.
