Measuring Our Impact

We’ve put a lot of energy, thought and effort into understanding our impact as a food manufacturer.

Together, we have come up with a robust strategy to build a better world and better communities. The following are our areas of focus.

Our goal is to create a diverse and fully inclusive workplace where people feel a sense of safety and belonging.

'Our People Are Our USP' and we put the correct measures in place to ensure they are protected and given equal opportunities to thrive and shine.

We want everyone to feel safe and welcome within the company and to know that there will be opportunities for them to grow. With a diverse workforce, comprising of over 25 nationalities speaking many different languages, we’ve had to afford each one of our employees the same level of support. We want maximum diversity of thought and we want to celebrate our differences and our cultures.

Charity Work

Nourishing Hearts; Our commitment to charity and community

Our chosen charity partner is Mary’s Meals, a remarkable organisation dedicated to eradicating child hunger and promoting education.

Mary’s Meals is an international charity which feeds school children in some of the poorest countries around the world. By selecting Mary’s Meals as our charity partner, we are aligning ourselves with a cause that resonates deeply with our values of compassion, social responsibility, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the world. Through their unique approach, Mary’s Meals not only address the immediate need for nourishment but also recognise the vital connection between food security and education. Sustainability Goals

Charting our course for global impact

Our decarbonisation roadmap is a top priority for us to lessen our impact on the planet.

Together we have created ‘The Green Manifesto’, a plan to reduce carbon emissions by focusing on the following 5 Areas: Measuring Carbon, Mapping Supply Chain, Reducing Plastic Usage, Utilising 100% Green Energy and Implementing Green Logistics. The following are some of the initiatives that we’ve already implemented:

01. Packaging

  • Recycling

    Recycling

All of our packaging is recyclable and we have a strict zero waste to landfill policy in place.

  • Reducing plastic

    Reducing plastic

We’ve swapped our plastic labels for paper ones, removing over 60 tonnes of single use plastic from our business each year.

  • Reducing waste

    Reducing waste

Investing in our print business, Around Noon Print, will help us better manage our packaging and label stock and reduce waste.

02. Transport

  • Top notch
vehicles

    vehicles

Our entire fleet meets the current low carbon emissions legislation (ULEZ in London). We have recently acquired two electric vans and all company cars are EV with free onsite charging.

  • High driving
standards

    High driving
    standards

All our drivers are FORS accredited, meaning they have to adhere to higher standards for safety, efficiency and environmental protection.

  • Route optimisation

    Route optimisation

We use route planning technologies which allow our driver to use the most efficient routes and in turn reduce fuel consumption across the business.

03. Energy Efficiency

  • Reducing
electricity spend

    Reducing
    electricity spend

All sites have been fitted with PIR sensors to reduce electricity usage. All new sites have solar panels and energy efficient, heat recovery systems.

  • Upgrading
our chillers

We are undertaking a new project to update our refrigeration systems to maximise energy efficiency.

  • Producing in

We work hard to rationalise our menus and to drive out waste and downtime across the business.

Local Employment

Our People Are Our USP, they’re our secret sauce.

With the continuous growth of our business, we’re always on the lookout for new talents that are local to our business.

With sites in Newry, Dublin, Cork, Slough and North London, we can offer great flexibility and career prospects. We work hard to create a great work environment for our teams and encourage office collaboration as well as remote and hybrid working. One facet of Our Core Purpose is to Grow Our People and we relish in seeing people progress and grow with the business.

The Around You Committee

This initiative was born from recognising via our ‘Humility' value that we wouldn’t be much without our people. We felt we wanted to find a simple and humble way to just say thanks.

As part of our 'Big Big Thank You' initiative, each department can nominate members of their teams who have gone above and beyond in their roles and demonstrated attitudes and behaviours in line with our core values.
